Ahead of the fifth phase and last of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a magnificent electoral rally in Mumbai’s iconic Shivaji park. Leaders from across the parties of the ‘Mahayuti’, a BJP-led coalition in Maharashtra, remained present on the site, including Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Raj Thackeray, who has extended an unconditional support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the ongoing elections.
Raj Thackeray also addressed the Shivaji park rally in his own style. Sparing no time for the opposition, Thackeray started to highlight the achievements of the Modi government at the centre. He said, “Why waste time on the opposition, when they are not coming to power.”
He further said that had Modi not been at the centre, Ram Mandir would never have become a reality. He said that PM Modi did the work that the Congress party failed to do, like ending Triple Talaq and ensuring justice for Muslim women.
Hailing the PM Modi-led government’s decision of abrogating Article 370, Raj Thackeray said that after its abrogation, Kashmir seems to be a part of India.
Raj Thackeray's 5 expectations
Besides, he also spoke about his expectations from the Prime Minister for the next five years. He insisted that —
- Marathi should be given the status of a recognised language
- The history of the Maratha Empire should be taught in the country's education
- Shiv Chhatrapati's forts should be redeveloped, an international committee should be formed
- Mumbai Goa Highway should be built
- You will not change Baba Saheb Ambedkar's constitution
- Traitor Muslims should be dealt with
Notably, Raj Thackeray has extended unconditional support to the Mahayuti alliance of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), NCP (Ajit Pawar), Republican party of India among others. Although Raj's MNS is not contesting the Lok Sabha elections, he is vigorously campaigning in favour of the BJP-led alliance.
