Datta Dalvi, ex-Mumbai Mayor and Uddhav faction leader, in trouble over objectionable language against CM
Ex-Mumbai Mayor was arrested from Bhandup area on Wednesday and has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Former mayor and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Datta Dalvi has been arrested for using objectionable language against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This information has been given by Bhandup Police. According to the information received, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has reached the police station with his workers. He has been sent to 14 judicial custody.
On that basis, an FIR was registered against Dalvi under various Indian Penal Code sections including 153 (a) (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc), 153 (b) (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration), 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
According to information received from Bhandup Police, a meeting was organised by the Uddhav Thackeray faction near Bhandup station. In that meeting, Dutta Dalvi had used objectionable language against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. After which, a case was registered against Dutta Dalvi on behalf of the department head of Eknath Shinde group.
