Massive fire engulfs Bhiwandi factory, fire tenders at spot | VIDEO

A massive fire broke out at a diaper manufacturing factory in MIDC near Saravali in Bhiwandi, Thane, Maharashtra on Tuesday. According to the officials, a company - Sadashiv Hygiene Pvt. Ltd. - was gutted this morning. 

Fire brigade vehicles from Bhiwandi, Kalyan and Thane reached the spot and started the dousing operation. 

The fire started at the factory, located in Saravli industrial area, around 3 am, said Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation disaster management cell official Raju Warlikar.

Fire brigade teams of BNMC as well as teams from Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control by 8.30 am, he said.

Nobody was reported injured but the raw material stored in the factory was gutted, he said, adding that cooling operations were underway.

Fire breaks out in DDA flat in northeast Delhi

Earlier in a similar incident, a 40-year-old woman was asphyxiated to death in Delhi. A fire broke out in a DDA flat in northeast Delhi's Welcome area on Monday. 
 
"We received a call at 3.15 pm regarding a fire at a double-storey house. Two fire engines were pressed into service which took two hours to douse the flames," Delhi Fire Services chief Atul Garg said.
 
Garg added that the fire was doused a little after 5 pm. The air conditioner and the electricity meter were fire, Garg said, adding that during the search operation, a woman was found unconscious due to smoke inhalation.
 
She was declared dead by a nursing assistant of a CATS Ambulance, the official said.
