MP Opinion Poll: BJP likely to emerge as single largest party, Congress close second

Madhya Pradesh Opinion Poll Region Wise: Assembly election on all 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh is set to take place on November 17 and the counting of votes is scheduled for December 3. Both BJP and Congress have announced various candidates for the upcoming polls.

India TV-CNX Opinion Poll for Madhya Pradesh: Ahead of the forthcoming assembly election in Madhya Pradesh, India TV has conducted an opinion poll to guage the mood of the voters and predict which political party is having an edge in the state. The opinion poll was carried out by CNX among 11,500 respondents (5,758 males and 5,742 females) across 115 randomly selected constituencies. The respondents were selected randomly for a sample population encompassing diverse professions, including cobblers, tailors, barbers, daily wage labourers, petty shopkeepers, migrant labourers, registered medical practitioners, auto and taxi drivers, and real estate dealers, among others.

    According to India TV-CNX opinion poll, Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the most preferred choice for the Chief Minister's post with 44 per cent, Kamal Nath is second with 39 per cent, Jyotiraditya Scindia at distant third with 9 per cent and Digvijaya Singh is at 2 per cent.

    BJP may reach close to form the government but Congress not far behind

    Overall, the BJP is expected to win 115 seats, the Congress will not be far behind and may secure 110 seats. There are a total of 230 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. 

    The halfway mark to claim the majority is 116.

    According to India TV-CNX opinion poll, in the Mahakoshal region which has a total of 47 seats, the Congress is likely to take the lead with 26, the BJP may win 19 and others may win two seats.
