Bus accident: As many as 24 people have lost their lives and more than 41 were injured after a bus en route to Indore fell off a bridge in Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh. According to reports, the bus broke railings of Dasanga bridge and fell on a dry bed of the Borad river near Dongargaon village. A magisterial probe has been ordered into the incident which took place at 8.40 am.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced Rs 4 Lakh will be given to the kin of the deceased, Rs. 50 thousand to the seriously injured, Rs. 25 thousand to the minor injured. Proper treatment of the injured in the accident will be arranged by the Madhya Pradesh government, he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the lives lost in thn accident and announced ex-gratia for the families of the deceased and the ones injured. The Prime Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next kin of those deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
