Amid Lok Sabha elections 2024, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that there has been a rift in the Gandhi family. While talking to India TV, he said that it is evident form the ticket distribution in Amethi and Rae Bareli.
He said that the picture that has emerged regarding seat distribution in Amethi and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh proves it. MP CM said that even the posters of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are being put separately.
Highlighting initial anticipations of Priyanka Gandhi contesting elections, there was talk of both contesting the elections, but only Rahul filed the nomination. Robert Vadra also wanted to contest the elections. He himself had indicated this, but he too did not get the ticket.
CM Mohan Yadav on being called as new face of Hindutva
On being referred to as the new face of Hindutva, Mohan Yadav said that he takes everyone along. If his party and fellow leaders talk about learning good things from God then what is the objection in that? On the question of coming from Yadav caste, he said that he knows swimming, reading, writing and wrestling. Sarcastically, he said that being a Yadav has true meaning only when you know these things.
Mohan Yadav calls Rahul Gandhi 'Ranchhor'
Targeting Rahul Gandhi for leaving Amethi contesting Rae Bareli instead, Mohan Yadav called him a 'Ranchhor' (One who flees from the battleground). He said that when he had gone to Amethi to campaign for Smriti Irani, Smriti had said to him, "I was assuming that Rahul Gandhi would not come, and as you have come to campaign, now he will definitely not come.”
He said that these are the warriors who attack from behind and do not come to the battleground. Talking about the work done by Smriti Irani in Amethi Lok Sabha, he said that work has been done continuously in Amethi in the last five years. Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi and underscoring Congress’ lost ground, he said that Congress leader was never going to come to Amethi because in assembly elections the deposits of his party’s candidates were confiscated.
Additionally, when Mohan Yadav was asked whether he was made CM to woo the Yadavs of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, he said that this is the narrative created by Congress and opposition parties. Under the leadership of PM Modi, BJP aims at Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and has also proved it. He is not tied to any one society, state or region. He wants to work for everyone.
