Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday narrowly escaped injuries after a tent on the stage collapsed in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh. When Scindia was addressing a gathering at the public event, a strong wind hit the tent resulting in the collapse of the temporary shed.

The Union Minister came to Shivpuri for the first time after winning the election from Guna to express his gratitude towards the people in the region. He carried out a roadshow before attending the event where the unfortunate incident happened.

A public meeting was organized at Madhav Chowk as part of his campaign. At around 8 pm, heavy rain along with a storm battered Madhav Chowk area. Amidst the rain, Scindia was greeting the leaders on the stage with folded hands but, as he proceeded wrong wind hit the stage. Meanwhile, due to a sudden storm, the tent started falling, which created a stir among the people including the leaders and officials present there.

Immediately after the incident of the tent collapse, the power supply was cut off for safety reasons. After this, the meeting was also postponed. The people present on the stage and the security personnel somehow held the tent, after which Scindia was safely taken out from there. No one was injured in this incident.

Scindia targets Congress

Earlier in the day, the BJP leader targeted the Congress saying, "Those who are boasting a lot these days, add the numbers (of winning seats) of their three elections. Not just one, two but if the numbers of the last three elections are added, even then the number would be less than that of BJP's tally. It can be seen that the trust that the people of the country have given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress has not been able to level that even after combining all (winning seats) in the last three elections. BJP has got 240 seats this time, but Congress has not been able to get 240 seats even after combining all three elections."
