Navratari special Day 8: Jai Maa Mahagauri

It is said that Goddess Parvati at the age of sixteen grew up to be extremely beautiful and fair complexioned. Thus she was bestowed with name Mahagauri, the Goddess with fairness, purity and deep devotion.

She is seen riding on a donkey with her two lefts hands carrying a sword, & an iron hook, and her other two rights hands are in Abhaya and Varada Mudra; blessing her devotees.

Her complexion is dark and she blesses her devotees and wards away any negatives from their lives. Maa Kalaratri is the symbol of Goddess Parvati's aggressive and destructive manifestation.

Maa Kalaratri is also spelled as Kaalaratri, and Kaalratri.

Worshipping Maa Kalaratri eliminates any sort of malefic effects of planets and obstacles from her devotee's lives.
