Manila: Jamie Herrel of the Philippines was Saturday crowned Miss Earth 2014. The runners-up are Miss USA, who was crowned Miss Air, Miss Venezuela won the Miss Water title and Miss Fire went to Miss Russia.
Herrell defeated 85 contestants including Miss India Alankrita Sahai, who couldn't even make it to top 16 at the 14th edition of the pageant held at at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman.
Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich from Venezuela crowned her successor at the end of the pageant.
India's Alankrita Sahai Saturday couldn't make it to the list of top 16 in the 14th edition of Miss Earth 2014, despite the 22-year-old managing to win numerous sub-titles at the international contest.
Alankrita bagged the gold at the Evening Gown contest where she was adorning a gown by designer Gaurav Gupta. She also won a bronze in the swimsuit round apart from taking the titles of Miss Casual Wear where she wore designer Jatin Varma's outfit and the title of Miss Pagudpude where she wore a creation by Falguni and Shane Peacock.
The Indian representative also bagged a Bronze in the best National Costume and Silver for Miss Photogenic.
