Over 200 million people across the world participated in events to mark the inaugural International Yoga Day today with a record 37,000 people performing yoga asanas in the national capital alone.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself was present at the mega event at Rajpath early Sunday morning. While the main function was held at Rajpath, the International Yoga Day events will be held across cities, towns and districts in the country.

International Yoga Day on June 21 was the start of a new era for training the human mind for peace and harmony, said PM Modi at Rajpath.
