Union textiles minister and Telly actress Smriti Irani recently shared her picture in a cotton saree and asked people to share their #CottonIsCool looks. This has triggered a campaign on social media and celebrities like Hema Malini, Virender Sehwag and Kapil Dev also joined it.
Smriti yesterday took to microblogging site Twitter to share her picture in a beautiful cotton saree. She tweeted, “I celebrate Indian summers and cotton industry with my #CottonIsCool look. What is your #CottonIsCool look?!”
As soon as Smriti tweeted, people started sharing their ‘cotton is cool’ look. Veteran actress Hema Malini also posted a picture in saree. She tweeted, “Nothing like fresh cottons to beat the heat I believe in staying cool even on the hottest days #CottonIsCool”
Virender Sehwag and Kapil Dev also participated in the campaign.
Sehwag shared a picture on social media in which he is seen with Kapil Dev. He tweeted, “Like to be always Cool, but what you wear makes it much much easier to be cool.#CottonIsCool , really really cool.
Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also shared their ‘Cotton is cool’ looks.
