New Delhi: If you are the one who has been on diet since long for achieving that unrealistic standard of beauty which media and advertising has set, then you immediately need to stop. For what you are running after is nothing but an illusion.   

You would have been spending your hard earned money on makeup, hair and shoes for getting that perfect look and trying hard and goimg beyong what you can take. A new survey has revealed that there are as many as 68% of Indian women and 71% of girls who agree that very few real women and girls look like women and girls in advertisements, movies and television. 

A research findings showed the feelings of Indian women and girls that how they have so many notions  about their physical attractiveness and beauty standards.

“Truth About Beauty” study, initiated by beauty brand Dove, was conducted by Edelman Intelligence, a specialist applied research firm based in London, in conjunction with clinical psychologist and psychotherapist Varkha Chulani, based in Mumbai.

In fact, mostly women have confined beauty ideals as 74% of Indian women and 43% of Indian girls believe women/girls who are beautiful have greater opportunities in life.

But the fairer sex is digging for a change. Around 67% of Indian women and 64% of Indian girls wish the media did a better job of portraying women of diverse physical attractiveness.

The research revealed that about 72% of Indian women and 73% of Indian girls wish women and girls in advertisements, movies, television, were deduced not on how they look but on what they do and say instead.
