Be it his distinguished persona or remarkable oratory skills, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dynamism never ceases to please. And if you were ever left wondering where he drives this energy from, here is the answer. PM Modi is not only a firm believer of the concept ‘Work is Worship’, but is a diehard spiritual man too.
With the onset of the auspicious festival of Navratra, Modi will be observing a nine-day long fast, which begins from today. In a blog post in 2012, Modi had made a mention that he has been observing the Navratra fasts for the past 35 years. That would make it almost 40 years now.
With a strong belief and practice of following the rituals of Navratra, there appears no reason why anything would deter him for breaking this decades-old tradition. What makes Modi’s fasts different is that it will have no impact on his work schedule, and he will be performing all his duties as earlier.

Ahead of this festival of Navratra, Narendra Modi took to his microblogging site Twitter and extended his best wishes on the occasion of this pious festival. He wrote, ‘’People across India are celebrating the start of the new year. New year greetings to everyone. May the year bring peace, joy & prosperity.’’
Modi usually prefers liquid diet during his nine-day fast of Navratra. During Navratra, Modi usually consumes lemon water, which helps in removing toxin substances from the body and keeps him hydrated all day long.
During the period of his nine-day fast, Navratra Modi even avoids taking any kind of vegetable or fruit diet.
