Researchers have found that sleeping naked is not only comfortable, but also regulates the body temperature and prevents you from waking in the middle of the night.
According to a Daily Mail report, sleeping without clothes at bedtime also prevents bacteria from thriving in warm moist areas. Moreover, sleeping naked with your partner enhances the immune system.
While only 12 per cent Americans sleep naked, both researchers and doctors recommend doing so, according to a poll from the National Sleep Foundation.
The research further explained that the body temperature tends to decrease during sleep and sleeping naked determines when your body is ready to fall asleep and when it is time to wake up.
Meanwhile, another study published in Seeker has indicated that even a slight drop in the body temperature helps individuals fall into a much deeper sleep.
A report from Men’s Health states that cooling down at night also increases growth hormones and decreases cortisol, which in turn creates better sleeping patterns and helps reduce the belly size.
The report is backed with the fact that the human body recuperates with lower cortisol levels on the nights when you take a sound sleep. It replenishes the next day so you have energy when you wake up.
On the contrary, if your sleep is interrupted, the body produces extra cortisol, which will increase your appetite the next day.
Sleeping naked is especially recommended for women as specialists believe that doing so allows the skin to breathe.
Yeast infections, a type of bacteria, thrive in warm moist areas, which can be created while sleeping in pajamas.
However, not just females, skipping clothes while sleeping is also important for men as it helps increase the sperm production.
It has also been found that the quality of sperm gets affected if the testicles become too warm.
