India is the land of festivals. Lohri, one of the popular festivals, which is celebrated with enthusiasm in Punjab, falls on January 13. On this occasion, people express gratitude for bumper harvest. They meet their relatives and light up a bonfire. Peanuts, popcorn are thrown in the fire and people sing folk songs. The festival marks the end of winter season. People exchange pleasantries, dhol nagara and colourful ambience is something that you can see during the celebration.
