Renowned Astrologer Bejan Daruwalla, 90, passed away in Ahmedabad on Friday. Daruwalla breathed his last at 5.13 pm. He was undergoing treatment for pneumonia at a private hospital and was reportedly on ventilator support for the last few days. The hospital confirmed that Daruwalla died during treatment. Speaking to PTI, his son Nastur Daruwalla refuted the reports claiming that his father succumbed to coronavirus. He was suffering from only pneumonia, Nastur confirmed. Bejan Daruwalla was known for his newspaper columns on astrology.
Mourning the demise of the renowned astrologer, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani wrote on Twitter, "Saddened by the demise of renowned Astrologer Shri Bejan Daruwalla. I pray for the departed soul. My condolences. Om Shanti".
BJP MP Poonamben Maadam also offered her condolences. "Sad to know about the demise of Renowned astrologer, Bejan Daruwalla Ji. May his soul Rest in Peace," she wrote on Twitter.
Former Gujarat Congress chief Arjun Modhwadia expressed his grief. He wrote, "Saddened to hear demise of renowned astrologer Wizard Shri Bejan Daruwalla ji @Bejan_Daruwalla due to Covid19. Unfathomable loss to the world of Indian Astrology. My condolences to his family & friends. May his divine soul find peace in Almighty's Heaven"
