The police were alerted immediately and rushed Pratap to Honnali Hospital. He was later transferred to McGann Hospital in Shivamogga, where he unfortunately passed away.

Pratap, son-in-law of former Karnataka minister and BJP leader BC Patil, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison this afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:30 PM near a forest in Arkere, Honnali Taluk, Davangere district. Pratap, who was married to BC Patil's elder daughter, reportedly ingested poison in his car.

Immediate response

After consuming the poison, Pratap informed his family of his actions over the phone. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly rushed him to Honnali Hospital. Later, he was shifted to McGann Hospital in Shivamogga, where he succumbed to the poison. No suicide note was found at the scene.

Police investigation

Police have recovered a bottle of poison from Pratap's car and have initiated an investigation to ascertain the reasons behind his suicide. Honnali police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough inquiry into the matter.

 

Pratap, the son-in-law of former Karnataka minister BC Patil, tragically ended his life by allegedly consuming poison near Arkere, Honnali Taluk. The police investigation is ongoing to determine the motives behind his drastic step.
