Bengaluru Police arrests terror suspect, sixth in three months

Bengaluru Police on Tuesday a man suspected of having links with the terror cases under investigation. A few weeks ago 5 men were arrested for alleged terror activities and guns and grenades were also recovered from their possession.

A lookout notice was issued against Arshad, who was arrested from RT Nagar. According to reports, Arshad had tried to slit his throat as cops tried to box him in. The police, however, managed to get him to the hospital and save him. He has now been arrested. 

According to police, he was allegedly in constant touch with a man named Junaid who is said to be in a Middle Eastern country and is the handler for others.

5 arrested in July

Five suspected terrorists were arrested in Bengaluru in Jully by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for allegedly planning a terror attack in Bengaluru. The five in custody — Suhail, Omar, Zahid, Mudasir and Faisal —  were previously arrested in 2017 and were in jail for 18 months in connection with a murder case before being released in 2019.
