Jharkhand: Who can become ministers in Hemant Soren Cabinet? Probable list

In recently concluded Assembly elections in Jharkhand, JMM-led alliance won 56 out of 81 seats. JMM alone won 34 seats. The coalition has comfortably crosses majority mark and is all set to form government on November 28.

After getting a dominating win the state assembly elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and CM-elect Hemant Soren is all set to take oath on November 28. Earlier on Monday, he met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and tendered his resignation. Moreover, he also staked claim to form the government in the next assembly.

Along with Hemant Soren, several other MLAs are likely to take oath on Thursday. Meanwhile, the discussions have started over the possible names of the MLAs who would become ministers. Here is the list of probable names which can be included in the Hemant Soren Cabinet.

Since the govt will be formed in coalition, members of all the constituent parties would get portfolios. The names of probable candiates from each of the parties with the constituencies they represent are as follows:

From JMM quota

  3. Deepak Birua (Chaibasa)
  4. Ram Das Soren (Ghatsila)
  5. Mathura Prasad Mahato (Tundi)

From Congress quota

  1. Rameshwar Oraon (Lohardaga)
  2. Irfan Ansari (Jamtara)
  3. Pradeep Yadav (Poreyahat)
  4. Kumar Jaimangal aka Anup Singh (Bermo)

Jharkhand Assembly Election results

The JMM-led coalition on Saturday stormed to power for the second time in a row in Jharkhand, steamrolling the BJP-headed NDA, by winning 56 seats in the 81-member assembly. The JMM coasted to victory in 34 seats, while alliance partners Congress and RJD won in 16 and four constituencies respectively. The CPI(ML) Liberation got two seats.

The NDA, on the other hand, had to be contented with just 24 seats, with BJP winning 21, while its three partners - Ajsu Party, Lok Janshakti Party(Ram Vilas) and JD(U) – bagged one seat each. The victory is even bigger this time as in the 2019 elections, the JMM- Congress- alliance emerged victorious in 47 seats.
