Amid the whirlwind of political developments in Jharkhand, which is set to hold assembly elections by the end of the year, Union Agriculture Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday (September 23) expressed his commitment to securing 'roti, beti, and mati' (bread, daughters, and land) in the state.

While addressing a Parivartan Sabha held in the Kolhan division, several female attendees took to the stage and handed over packets of soil from the state to the Union Minister. They stated that "roti, beti, and mati" are not safe in Jharkhand presently, and extended help from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ensure their security.

In response, the Minister assured the attendees that the BJP would protect the state's"roti, beti, and mati". "I promise, on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, that we will protect Jharkhand's roti, beti, and mati," the Minister reaffirmed.

Meanwhile, during the public address, the Minister also criticized the current JMM government led by Hemant Soren. He raised concerns about Bangladeshi infiltration in the state, while claiming that infiltration was jeopardizing jobs and livelihoods. He further emphasised that the BJP would implement a National Citizen Register (NCR).

"The Soren government is allowing infiltration in Jharkhand. These infiltrators are taking away jobs, putting our livelihoods at risk. Only the BJP government can ensure the safety of Jharkhand's soil, daughters, and bread," he said.

"People of Jharkhand, I am here today to tell you that we will create a National Citizen Register, so no foreign intruder can obtain an Aadhaar card or have their name added to the voter list," he added.
