Full list of ministers with portfolios in Hemant Soren's Cabinet | CHECK

Days after being sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren assigned key portfolios to his member cabinet. While retaining major departments for himself, he distributed crucial portfolios among his ministers, including new faces and experienced leaders.

Mere days after being sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand following his release on bail in a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam, Hemant Soren's 12-member cabinet took their oaths as ministers on Monday.

Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers during a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.

We bring you detailed information on the portfolios allotted to each minister in the new cabinet: 

Portfolio Allocation in Jharkhand Government

  • Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has retained key departments such as Home, Personnel, and Cabinet Secretariat for himself, along with any portfolios not allocated to other ministers.
     
  • Former Chief Minister Champai Soren has been assigned the Water Resources Department, Higher Education, and Technical Education.
     
  • Badiyanath Ram from JMM will manage the School Education and Excise portfolios. Deepika Pandey Singh of the Congress, a new face in the cabinet, has been assigned Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Disaster Management.
     
  • Irfan Ansari, also from Congress, will oversee Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Rural Works.
     
  • Dipak Birua from JMM has been given the SC, ST, OBC Welfare and Transport departments.
     
  • Bebi Devi, another JMM member, will manage the Women & Child Development and Social Welfare portfolios.
     
  • Rameshwar Oraon of the Congress has been assigned Finance, Planning, Commercial Taxes, and Parliamentary Affairs.
     
  • Satyanand Bhokta from RJD will take charge of Labour and Industries.
     
  • Banna Gupta of the Congress has been allotted Health, Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs.
     
  • Hafizul Hasan from JMM will handle Minorities' Welfare, Registration, Urban Development, Tourism, and Sports and Youth Affairs.
     
  • Finally, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, also from JMM, has been assigned the Drinking Water and Sanitation departments.
