Jammu and Kashmir road accident: At least three people died after a vehicle they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge on Zojila Pass in Ganderbal district today (December 7).
5 tourists died in Ganderbal:
At least five tourists have died in a road accident at Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Ganderbal district. Soon after the accident, the Sonamarg police reached the spot and carried out the rescue operation.
The incident took place when a vehicle carrying eight people (Seven tourists and one driver) fell into a deep gorge on the Srinagar-Leh highway near Zojila Pass after their car skidded off the road as there was snow all around. Five people have died in the incident while three others are being treated at a hospital. The deceased belonged to Kerala.
The driver of the car identified as Ajaz Ahmad Awan, is critically injured and has been referred to SKIMS Soura for treatment.
