In a tragic incident, a massive fire engulfed several houses in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district in the wee hours of Thursday. According to the information, the incident occurred in the Bhaderwah area where several houses were gutted. After getting the information, firefighters were rushed to the spot to douse the flame.

Eight houses gutted
Speaking to the media, Abdul Qayoom, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Doda, said that eight structures have been gutted in the fire and no causalities have been reported so far. "We got the information of fire at around 4:45 am. A total of 5 fire service teams are working here and the fire has been brought under control," he added.
Earthquake hits Doda
Meanwhile, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake also hit Doda district on Thursday, officials said. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported, they said.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake of 3.9 magnitude occurred at 9:34 am.
Its epicentre was in Doda.It occurred at latitude 33.05 degrees north and longitude 76.18 degrees east, it said.
