Terrorists arrested earlier this month

Earlier this month, days before Independence Day, at least two hybrid terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit along with arms ammunition were arrested in Azadgunj Baramulla during police checking. A case under UA (P) Act & Arms Act was registered. On specific information regarding the movement of terrorists in Baramulla who were likely to carry out terrorist activities, joint forces of Baramulla Police, CRPF & Army placed a Mobile Vehicle Check Posts (MVCP) at Azadgunj Old Town Baramulla. Following the arrests were made.

Two suspect persons who were coming towards Azadgunj Baramulla tried to flee while noticing a joint naka party but were apprehended tactfully.

During their personal search 1 pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 4 live pistol rounds and 1 grenade were recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately. The terrorists in custody were identified as Faisal Majeed Ganie and Nourul Kamran Ganie from Baramulla.

During preliminary investigation, it came forth that both the individuals are hybrid terrorists and are affiliated with the banned terrorist organisation of LeT outfit and had collected the arms & ammunition for carrying terrorist activities in Baramulla in view of the upcoming Independence Day.
