A Border Security Force jawan was reported missing from his post near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Pooch district, officials said on Saturday (September 9).
The constable, Amit Paswan, who hailed from Bihar was on general duty at the Bharani forward post in the Balakote sector at the time he went missing on Friday, they said.
The BSF troops conducted a search operation for the missing jawan, however, he could not be traced. A missing report was filed with the concerned police station.
"Widescale efforts are on to trace him", the officials added.
