Two Army jawans were killed and 2 were evacuated after an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district. The development comes after a massive encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Pingnal Dugadda forest area in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The exchange of fire was reported in the upper reaches of Naidgham village under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chhatroo, district Kishtwar, police said.
As per the latest updates, 4 Army jawans were injured in the attack and one has been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Official sources told India TV that a joint team of Police and Army launched a search operation in Chattru Kistawar. After the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, they said.
Meanwhile, one police officer also confirmed about exchange of firing between terrorists and security forces.
