Four people lost their lives when a truck headed for Rajasthan plunged into a gorge at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the Jhajjar Kotli area last night, police said.The bus was travelling from Srinagar to Rajasthan. The visuals from the spot showed the truck to be in a completely destroyed condition.
Earlier, a portion of Ranbireshwar Temple collapsed in Jammu on Tuesday (October 17). A team of SDRF is present at the spot and rescue operations are underway. Following the incessant rain in the state, the National Highway-44 in Ramban district was blocked.
The closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national left over 200 vehicles stranded. The weather department has also predicted isolated heavy rain with the possibility of lightning and thunderstorms in several districts.
