Asafoetida/Hing steam
Asafoetida commonly known as Hing acts as a respiratory stimulant and helps in relieving chest conjestion. Add two drops of Hing oil in a bowl of hot water. Now inhale the steam through your nose. You can even rub the oil on your chest as a vapourub.
Ginger tea
Ginger boasts of anti-inflammatory properties which can reduce the amount of mucus and clear the nasal passage. All you need to do is have a ginger tea. Just add a few pieces of this herb in your regular chai.
Turmeric milk
Turmeric is one of the go-to ingredients when it comes to combatting cold. It is an excellent immunity booster and has anti-inflammatory properties which can help you recover from common cold quickly. Just add some turmeric powder in your regular glass of milk.
Salt water
Gargling with saline water removes irritants from the throat. It clears the mucus and even helps you breathe easily.
