BJP's Gaurav Gautam won the Palwal Assembly seat in the 2024 elections, defeating INC's Karan Singh Dalal with 109,118 votes to Dalal's 75,513.

BJP candidate Gaurav Gautam won the Palwal constituency in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, defeating INC's Karan Singh Dalal. Gautam received 109,118 votes, while Dalal garnered 75,513 votes.

The counting of votes began on Tuesday morning. Palwal, designated constituency number 84, is one of the 90 seats in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. The main contest was between the BJP and the Congress Party, with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Abhishek Deshwal also in the race, adding excitement to the election. Gautam's victory marked a significant achievement for the BJP in this competitive constituency.

As per the latest trends and eight rounds of counting, BJP's Gaurav Gautam is leading with a huge margin and has so far secured over 52,000 votes. Congress' Karan Singh Dalal is on second spot currently with 28,968 votes.

At 12:15 pm, the trends show Gaurav Gautam is still leading with a huge margin and has so far secured over 68,000 votes. Congress party's Karan Singh Dalal is trailing behind with over 40,676 votes. Meanwhile, the BJP is currently leading Haryana with 49 seats while Congress is ahead on 35 seats.

As per the ECI website, the official data for the Palwal seat shows that the Congress party's Tariq Hammed Karra is still leading with 15574 votes.

As per the ECI website at 1 pm, the official counting data for the Palwal seat shows that the BJP's Gaurav Gautam is still leading with over 85,000 votes. Overall, BJP is ahead on 49 seats while Congress is at 35 seats.

Till 1:50 pm, the ECI website shows that BJP's Gaurav Gautam is leading with 105,605 votes. Meanwhile, BJP is currently leading on 50 seats out of 90 and Congress is ahead on 35 seats. 

 

Voters and candidates in Haryana

According to Haryana's Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Agarwal, 2,03,54,350 voters, including 1,07,75,957 males, 95,77,926 females, and 467 third-gender voters.  A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting across 90 constituencies, and 20,632 polling booths have been set up for the election. The Chief Electoral Officer earlier highlighted that a total of 29,462 police personnel, 21,196 home guards, and 10,403 Special Police Officers (SPO) were deployed for the polls.
