India TV Chunav Manch: Biplab Kumar Deb, Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) co-incharge for Haryana and the former Tripura Chief Minister, attended India TV's Chunav Manch on Friday ahead of the crucial Assembly elections in the state. He attacked the Congress over its chief ministerial candidate and said the party would "lose the elections badly" if it announced its CM candidate. "The Congress will not declare its CM candidate. They know that if they announce Bhupinder Singh Hooda as their CM candidate, they will lose badly," he said.
Deb alleged that Congress fled lies to the people of the country during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and the people of Haryana would not fall for it in the Assembly Elections.
"The Congress lied to the people of the country during the Lok Sabha Elections. The people on the ground are miffed that they were fed lies during the polls. The Haryana BJP government is the one that buys grain at the highest rates. It is the BJP government that has done the most work for farmers," he said.
Taking a dig at the Congress party, he said that lies don't work repeatedly, they work only once. "Congress has done politics by lying. Look at what's happening in Himachal. The state's treasury is being emptied," he said.

Bipab Deb slams Rahul Gandhi over 'Sikhs' remark
The BJP leader slammed the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi over his 'Sikhs' remarks in the US and said that the 'Grand Old Party' has the "nature" to insult Indian society. He said that the people of Haryana will teach Congress a lesson for the "lies" peddled during the general elections that concluded in June.
"Rahul Gandhi says in the foreign land that Sikhs are not allowed to wear turban and kada. It is the nature of Congress to insult the Indian society as they do not do politics for the country. They do it for themselves and their families. The people of Haryana will teach them a lesson for the lies fed in the Lok Sabha polls," Deb added.
Biplab Deb on the need to change the Chief Minister?
When asked the reason behind the change of Chief Minister in Haryana months ahead of the Assembly polls, Biplab Deb said, "I was also the CM of Tripura, and there too, the CM was changed, but still, the government was re-elected. This has nothing to do with any disagreements; the central leadership decides this. These people can't even declare a CM candidate."
Haryana Assembly Elections 2024
The BJP is contesting the Haryana Assembly Elections on its own. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress held alliance talks, however, the seat-sharing negotiations could not materialise, forcing both parties to go solo in the upcoming Assembly Elections. The state will go to polls on October 5 and the counting of votes will be done on October 8.
