The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unveiled its list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections scheduled for October 5. Prominent leaders such as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Haryana AAP President Sushil Gupta, and senior party members Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh will spearhead the campaign. Notably, Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, also features on the list.
Breakdown of AAP's star campaigners
The AAP, contesting independently after failed seat-sharing talks with Congress, has named several prominent leaders in its campaign efforts. Besides Kejriwal and Mann, the list includes key Delhi figures such as Manish Sisodia, Sandeep Pathak, Gopal Rai, and Satyender Jain. Kejriwal, currently detained in connection with a money-laundering case, will continue to serve as the face of the party. Other significant campaigners include Punjab ministers Aman Arora, Harjot Singh Bains, and Chetan Singh Jouramajra.
AAP’s electoral strategy
AAP has announced 70 candidates for the 90-member Haryana Assembly. In the 2019 election, the party contested 46 seats but failed to secure any wins. The filing deadline for nominations is September 12, ahead of the October 5 elections.
