In a tragic incident, a toddler girl fell into a borewell estimated to be 45-50 feet deep in Gujarat's Amreli district on Friday. According to details, the incident occurred at Surgapara village. A video has also surfaced showing the rescue operation to save the child.
The incident unfolded when one-and-a-half-year-old daughter of farm labourers accidentally fell into a borewell while playing in the fields. The distressing event prompted an immediate response, with authorities swiftly notifying the fire brigade and the 108 Ambulance service. A camera was also promptly deployed into the borewell to assess the situation, followed by the lowering of oxygen pipes to ensure the child's well-being.
The parents of the toddler are understandably distraught by the incident. Rescue operations are now underway, coordinated by emergency response teams, to safely retrieve the child from the borewell. The incident has gripped the local community, with efforts focused on securing the safe rescue of the child. Authorities and rescue teams are working tirelessly to navigate the challenging rescue operation and reunite the baby with her family.
Similar incident in Rajasthan
Earlier in May, a five-year-old child had fallen into a 40-feet deep borewell in Kanwada village in Laxmangarh area of Alwar district in Rajasthan. However, he was later rescued safely. The child had fallen into the borewell next to the well and was rescued safely after a struggle that lasted for about three hours, the police informed. The local administration along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and a team of doctors had reached the spot and rescued the child safely.
