The voting in the Rajkot Lok Sabha constituency seat was held on May 7 in the third phase along with 92 other seats across 11 states and Union Territories. This included 25 seats in Gujarat (BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal won the Surat Lok Sabha seat unopposed), 14 in Karnataka, 11 in Maharashtra, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, 9 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Chhattisgarh, 5 in Bihar, 4 each in West Bengal and Assam, 2 each in Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.

The main fight for the Rajkot Lok Sabha constituency seat is between BJP and the Congress party. In the last two General Elections, BJP's Mohan Kundraiya clinched the seat easily against the Congress party. In the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, BJP fielded Parshottam Rupala against Congress Paresh Dhanani. For the unversed, Dhanani defeated Rupala in the 2002 Assembly elections for the Amreli constituency.
Rajkot Lok Sabha Elections 2024: What happened in 2014 and 2019?
The Lok Sabha seat of Rajkot has been BJP's stronghold since 1989, except for 2009 when Congress' Kuvarjibhai Bavalla won from the constituency. In the 2014 General Elections, BJP's Mohan Kundariya fought against Congress' Bavalla and managed to get nearly 60 per cent of vote share.
In the previous Lok Sabha Elections, BJP again fielded Mohan from the Rajkot consittuency, who performed even better than 2014 elections and got 758,600 votes.
