A NEET cheating scam has been busted in Gujarat's Godhra in which four people have been held. The racket was being run by one Parashuram Roy who operates by Roy Overseas Company, and another person Tushar Bhatt. According to the investigation so far, the accused were paid several lakhs by the students to fill their answer sheets.
Investigation in the case has revealed transaction worth over Rs 12 crore between students, their parents and the accused. Rs 10 lakh was the rate for each student who wanted to cheat in the exam. The accused had planned that would get around Rs 26 crore.
In this entire case, the District Education Officer had filed a complaint against three accused in Godhra Taluka Police Station.
A complaint was filed against Tushar Bhatt, teacher at Jai Jalaram School, Godhra, and Parshuram Roy, owner of a company named Roy Overseas of Vadodara and one Arif Vora from Godhra.
Parshuram Roy has told students to leave the questions they don't know and Tushar Bhatt would make sure to fill the answer sheets after the exam. The main accused in the case is Parshuram Roy, who runs a coaching centre in Vadodara. Roy was operating the entire gang through one Arif Vahora.
Parshuram had sent the details of 26 candidates to Tushar Bhatt, a teacher at Jai Jalaram School in Godhra, through Arif.
Out of these, 6 candidates were giving the exam at one centre of Jai Jalaram School in Godhra and the remaining 20 children were giving the exam at another centre of Jai Jalaram School. The entire scam came to light after Godhra DM received this information.
Based on the information received to the District Magistrate, his team and District Education Officer during an investigation at the NEET examination center recovered Rs 7,00,000 in cash from the vehicle of the accused teacher.
