Gujarat: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against an Assistant Commissioner, CGST, Mahesh Chowdhary and his wife, on the allegations of disproportionate assets in Gandhidham.
The probing agency have alleged that the accused had accumulated disproportionate assets to the tune of around Rs 3,71,12,499 (approx) in the form of huge cash, bank balances, movable and immovable properties during 2017 to 2021 in the name of several family members.
Searches are being conducted at various places in Gujarat and Rajasthan. So far, cash upto to Rs 42 Lakh (approx), foreign currencies, Jewellery, costly watches and documents related to property have been found.
