Gujarat is aiming to produce 50 per cent of state's total power through renewable sources by 2030, the government said as it unveiled its renewable energy policy.
The new policy was unveiled by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai in Gandhinagar.
In order to achieve their aim to produce 50 per cent energy through renewable sources, the government is seeking to attract an investment of about Rs 5 lakh crore through its new policy.
The government seeks to produce 36 GW of power through solar sources and 143 GW through wind energy.
Various expects of renewable energy such as ground-mounted solar, rooftop solar, floating solar, canal top solar as well as wind, rooftop wind and wind-solar hybrid projects will be covered under this policy.
