A website claiming to offer a petrol pump dealership for PSU Oil Marketing Companies is going viral on internet. According to the reports, the website asserted that it provides dealerships for petrol pumps on behalf of PSU Oil Marketing Companies. 

How accurate is that website? And if wrong then which is the right website? We will investigate this in today's Fact Check Story:

Claim

It is being claimed that the government is accepting applications for petrol pump dealerships. For this, there is talk of applying on a website (http://petrolpumpkskdealership.com/). On this, a screenshot related to the information of the application is also being shared, in which the option of applicant login and apply now is visible. The logo of Government of India along with G20 is also visible on the website. It has been designed like a government website. Let us tell you that before this, oil companies have warned the public to avoid being misled by taking out advertisements in the paper.

Truth

When we got the screenshot, first of all we searched the website shown in that screenshot (http://petrolpumpkskdealership.com/) on Google. Didn't see anything on the website. That is, till the time of our search, the website had been closed. When its photo was checked, a website fact-checked it by quoting PIB. When we visited the official handle of PIB, we came to know that this website is fake.

Right website for petrol pump?

We also found a press release on PIB's Twitter handle, which stated that LPG Distributorship Selection (https://www.lpgvitarakchayan.in/) and Petrol Pump Dealer Selection (http://www.petrolpumpdealerchayan.in/) will be conducted by Govt. There are two official websites from where the details can be obtained. On the other hand, if you want more details, you can also visit the official website of Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum and Indian Oil.

In our investigation, it has become clear that the viral website is fake, which is not opening now. There is only one official website from the Government of India, under which updates related to petrol pump dealerships are available. So don't trust any such website and also tell others to stay away from fake news.
