Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya actor Anupam Shyam dies due to multiple organ failure; Twitter filled with condolences
TV actor Anupam Shyam, who rose to fame through the daily soap 'Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya' passed away on Sunday evening after suffering multiple organ failures. For those unversed, the 63-year-old actor was known for playing negative roles in a number of TV shows. As soon as the news of his demise spread, condolences started pouring in over social media.
Television actor Anupam Shyam, who rose to fame through the show Pratigya passed away on Sunday evening after suffering multiple organ failures. The actor was admitted to the hospital last year after he suffered kidney failure. He was admitted to the critical care unit of a Goregaon hospital a few days back and the news of the same was confirmed by his younger brother. He told Spotboye, "He is breathing but doctors have lost hope. Today is his sixth day of being admitted in the Goregaon hospital." For those unversed, the 63-year-old actor was known for playing negative roles in a number of TV daily soaps.
Apart from TV shows, he has been a part of films like--Lajja, Nayak, Dubai Return, Parzania, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Shakti: The Power, Bandit Queen, internationally acclaimed movie Slumdog Millionaire. Apart from that, he has also acted in numerous international films set in India. He belongs to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh and is an alumnus of Bhartendu Academy of Dramatic Arts, Lucknow, where he studied from 1983 to 1985. He was even a supporter of Anna Hazare's movement held on 27 December 2011.

Last year when his health declined, UP government official announced assistance from the CM Relief Fund for the actor. "He could not get good treatment due to financial crisis. I have informed his friends about his health and also reached out to Being Human through their website. I even got a call from Manoj Bajpayee, who said he will look into the matter," the actor''s brother Anurag said.
Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) had made an appeal for financial aid on social media to bear the medical expenses.
