It’s been six days since Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s beloved Dr Hansraj Hathi aka Kavi Kumar Azad passed away after a cardiac arrest. The entire nation is still deeply saddened and shocked at his untimely death. However, did you know that Kavi Kumar Azad almost died 8 years ago when he collapsed on the sets? Back then, it was Bollywood actor Salman Khan who paid for all his medical bills, reports suggest.
A latest report in Spotboye reveals how Salman Khan had settled his hospital bills eight years ago when Kavi was almost brought dead to the hospital. Salman had then took it upon himself to bear all his medical expenses so that Kavi could undergo a bariatric surgery, which was highly needed at that point in time.
The Race 3 actor reportedly works closely with the doctor who attended to Azad, and often pays the medical bills of those in needs. When Salman got to know about Azad, he ensured the TMKOC actor doesn’t compromise on his life due to financial issues and helped him undergo a bariatric surgery which was highly needed at that point in time. Even today, Salman donates money and helps out many patients thrugh his charitable venture, Being Human.
Dr Hathi's co-stars from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah were seen being a part of his final journey and paid their last respect to their friend. But the people gathered there weren’t as empathetic towards them. The actors were extremely angered and disappointed at the behaviour of the public present at the cremation ceremony.
Fuming at this insensitive behaviour of the so-called fans, Babita aka Munmun Dutta expressed anger through her Instagram stories. In a series of posts, she lashed out at the people who pretended to be hurt by Dr Hathi’s death and became a part of his final journey just to create chaos.
Asit Kumarr Modi, the show's creator issued a statement to IANS saying, "We are very sad to inform the loss of our senior actor Kavi Kumar Azad. He was playing the character of Dr Hathi in Taarak Mehta... We lost him to a massive cardiac arrest".
