Bollywood and television actress Neena Gupta is known for her stellar acting prowess and she has proved it with a number of Bollywood films and tv serials to her credit. She was recently seen in Amit Sharma’s comedy-drama Badhaai Ho and earned a lot of praises for her character. Other than her films, Neena Gupta has always been remembered through her 90s classic TV show Saans in which her big red bindi became a fashion statement. Recently in an interview, the actress revealed that she is working on Saans 2 and will produce it as well.
Talking to indianexpress.com, Neena Gupta revealed, “I have pitched the idea to a few makers, and I am awaiting confirmation from them. I am also looking for a platform to showcase the show. However, I have made the pilot, and everything is ready. We will roll once things work out.” Revealing details about the cast, the actress said, “It will be the same star cast as before.” She added, “The show will be about the characters’ journey after eighteen years.”
In June last year, Neena Gupta even shared a still from the iconic show and captioned it as, “Kahin se saans ka still mila socha aap sab se share karun” The moment she shared the picture, fans went down the memory lane and flooded her comments section with compliments and memories of the good old days. While one fans wrote, "It was the most beautiful TV serial ever. I remember everyone in my house and we had a big joint family and everyone was hooked onto it. What a masterpiece," another wrote "one of my earliest lessons in empowerment. Such a graceful presence you had throughout the series. Your resilience is one to be emulated."
Saans was a hit 90s show that revolved around marital infidelity and Neena Gupta played the role of Priya in the show. Her husband Gautam’s role was played by popular actor Kanwaljit Singh. We are sure fans must be very excited to hear about the return of Saans. However, the actress hasn’t revealed if the show will feature on TV or digital platforms.
