One of the controversial contestants of Bigg Boss 11, Zubair Khan has been arrested by Mumbai crime branch's anti-extortion cell for threatening a businesswoman. Zubair, who created ruckus inside the house demanded Rs 1 crore in the name of underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Shakeel.
Shabnam Shaikh, who has a garment business informed Police after receiving calls from Karachi, demanding Rs 1 crore on behalf of Chhota Shakeel, Dawood Ibrahim and Fahim Machmach. She also claimed of getting death threats. Shaikh insisted that she started getting calls from Pakistan-based numbers after filing a complaint against Zubair Khan.
Zubair was arrested after Police found that he was constantly in touch with an accused. His call records also showed several calls from Pakistan and UAE around the same time the complainant was getting the threat calls. Court has sent him in police custody till February15.
Zubair, who was ousted during the first week of Bigg Boss was slammed by Salman Khan for his unruly behaviour. He entered the show claiming that he has underworld connections.
