Winter has finally arrived in Winterfell and left every fan excited for all the right reasons. However, it appears that winter came around a little early as it is said that the first episode of the much-awaited TV show Game of Thrones season 8 got leaked online fours hours before its schedules time. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first episode appeared on the AT&T-owned service DirecTv Now around 5 pm ET, instead of its 9 pm ET premiere time on Sunday.

Infact, the episode was live for the users for many hours before it was taken down from DirecTV Now and viewers even reported that they received a push notification that the episode is being streamed LIVE and ready to be viewed. A representative for AT&T said, “Apparently our system was as excited as we are for Game of Thrones tonight and gave a few DirecTV Now customers early access to the episode by mistake. When we became aware of the error, we immediately fixed it and we look forward to tuning in this evening.”

This is not the first time, Game Of Thrones has had its fair share of leaks and spoilers in the past as well. Now that the first episode was leaked, it is expected that more episode might appear online before their official schedule.

Directed by David Nutter and written by Dave Hill, the episode has a runtime of 54 minutes. It has already broken the internet with more than 17.4 million views on the first episode either on TV or on online streaming platform like Hotstar in India.

Game of Thrones season 8 is going to be the final season for the eight-year-long TV series. The pilot episode of the show aired on 17th April 2011. Tomorrow, the show is going to be exactly eight-year-old. In the last episode we saw, Sansa Stark reuniting with Jon Snow and her little sister Arya Stark. Bran Stark, who is crippled for life in season 1, had an awkward confrontation with Jamie Lannister, who pushed him out of the window.
