Veeramadevi: Sunny Leone says she always wanted to play a warrior

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, who made a swift move into the Hindi film industry in 2012, is all set to make her debut in a Tamil film. She says that she always wanted to play a warrior. Sunny, whose real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra, will be launched in the Tamil film industry with the upcoming film "Veeramadevi". The film has been helmed by Vadivudaiyanm and is made on a mega budget with elaborate CG. The project has been bankrolled by Ponse Stephen’s Steves Corner Banner. The shooting of the film commenced from February 7th this year.

Asked about the film, Sunny told IANS over an e-mail interview from Los Angeles: "I am so excited to be a part of a project that is like this. Playing a warrior is something that I have always wanted to do."

Sunny Leone also said that south Indian films would help her grow as a person and an actress. Sunny, whose real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra, will be launched in the Tamil film industry with the upcoming film Veeramdevi. Asked if she agrees that working in a south Indian film will help to broaden her reach, Sunny told IANS in an e-mail interaction: "Yes, I agree that this film will help me grow as a person and as an actress. Being able to learn about a completely different culture is something that I like a lot and enjoy."

Directed by V.C. Vadivudaiyan, "Veeramadevi" also stars Navdeep in a pivotal role. 

Currently, Sunny is seen hosting the season 11 of youth-based reality show "Splitsvilla" on MTV.
