Actress Banita Sandhu, who debuted in Bollywood with critical hit October opposite Varun Dhawan, has bagged a role in an ambitious Tamil project. The actress has been roped in for female lead in Arjun Reddy’s Tamil remake. She will be romancing actor Dhruv Vikram in Varmaa, which is the title of the remake. Banita shared the news on her Twitter retweeting Taran Adarsh’s tweet. It’s going to be Sandhu’s first film in Tamil film industry.
Talking about Dhruv Vikram, he is actor Vikram’s son. The actor courted headlines earlier this week when the makers announced that the film is being reshot as they were not happy with the final cut. Dhruv was retained as the lead actor of the film.
"We at E4 Entertainment are not at all happy with the final version handed over to us and due to various creative and other differences, we have decided not to release this version. Instead we will start afresh, and shoot a new Tamil version of Arjun Reddy," read a statement, news agency IANS reported,” a statement to IANS reads.
“Despite this unfortunate turn of events which has cost us heavily, our love for wanting to see this cult film in Tamil has not diminished in any way. We will therefore work tirelessly as a new united team towards a June 2019 release,” it concludes.
Vamraa will now release in June instead of this month. The trailer was dropped in January with Megha Chowdhary in the lead role. She has been replaced by Banita Sandhu in the reshot.
