South lady superstar Nayanthara who has just tasted the success of Aramm, has been roped in for Ajith’s next film Viswasam. Indian Movie Industry Tracker Ramesh Bala today confirmed this on his official Twitter handle by posting- BREAKING: #Nayanthara is the heroine of #Thala #Ajith 's @viswasamthemov @directorsiva @SathyaJyothi_ @DoneChannel1

While names of Anushka Shetty and Shraddha Srinath were tossed around, it is Nayanthara who has bagged the role. Ajith and Nayanthara have teamed up earlier thrice – Billa (2007), Aegan (2008) and Arrambam (2013). Billa was a game changer in Nayan's career, while Aegan went on to be a damp squib, commercially. Arrambam, directed by Vishnuvardhan, fared well at the box office.

The filmmakers are also on a lookout for a music composer for the project, according to reports. The original choice, composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, had reportedly walked out of the project due to some unknown reasons days after the project went on the floors.

Young heartthrob Anirudh Ravichander is said to be considered for the project. If Anirudh comes on board, it will be his third outing with director Siva and Ajith. The director-actor-composer trio has given three box office hits since 2015.

The yet-untitled horror thriller is produced by KJR studios who made that award-winning film ‘Aramm’ directed by Sarjun KM, who is quite popular in short film circle, he has also directed Varalakshmi’s Echcharikkai —Idhu Manidhargal Nadamaadum Idam, which will soon hit the screens.

In Viswasam, which is reportedly set in the backdrop of north Chennai, Ajith is said to be playing the role of honest police officer. It will be Siva’s fourth consecutive outing with Ajith after Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam. The regular shooting will begin from March as the filmmakers are yet to share full details of the remaining cast and crew.
