Superstar Rajinikanth has landed in legal trouble. A journalist from Mumbai has threatened to file a defamation suit against the actor and also demanded an apology within 36 hours over the upcoming film Kaala. The legal notice accuses Rajinikanth of showing his father late S Thiraviam Nadar, in a bad light just to get the support of upper-caste sections of society. Mr Nadar revealed that his father, who was a jaggery and sugar merchant, was fondly called Gudwala Seth and Kaala Seth because of his good will and was never indulged in illegal activities.
However, Rajinikanth's team has refused to react to the issue saying that an apt reply will be given after receiving the notice clarifying that the film is not about Thiraviam Nadar.
Kaala is all set to hit the screens this Friday. However, The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has decided not to screen the film in the state. The trailer of the film created buzz everywhere. It is yet to be seen if Kaala manages to spell magic on cinema lovers.
On a related note, along with Rajinikanth, the film also features Easwari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil in pivotal roles.
