Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s big-budget film 2.0 continues to hold its ground even on the weekdays. 2.0’s producers claimed that the film has already made Rs 400 crores in gross worldwide collection in the first weekend, with its dubbed Hindi version earning Rs 122.50 crore in six days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “#2Point0 sets the BO on fire... Double digits yet again on Day 6 [Tue]… The trending on weekdays is EXCELLENT... Thu 20.25 cr, Fri 18 cr, Sat 25 cr, Sun 34 cr, Mon 13.75 cr, Tue 11.50 cr. Total: ₹ 122.50 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version”
.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, 2.0 has so far remained strong at the box office, and is likely to perform well for a couple of weeks more. Although, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath, which is going to be released next Friday, might hamper its Hindi collection, 2.0 is expected to still be able to rake in good moolah.
The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 540 crore. Its satellite rights were sold for Rs 110 crore, while 2.0's digital rights fetched them Rs 80 crore. While all that seem like good news for the makers, 2.0 is still banking on its box office collections to recover the budget.
Released across 10,000 screens worldwide, 2.0 starring Rajinilkanth and Akshay Kumar is being shown across around 6,800 screens in India.
