Following his release, the actor was seen leaving from the Geetha Arts office in Jubilee Hills. The court issued the order on Friday, setting a personal bond of Rs 50,000 in connection with the tragic death of a woman on December 4.
Delay in release despite bail order
Despite being granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on Friday evening, Arjun spent the night in jail as authorities reportedly did not receive a copy of the bail order until late at night.
“Allu Arjun has been released,” his lawyer Ashok Reddy confirmed, outside Chanchalguda prison. The actor, 42, was immediately driven to his residence, where he was seen reuniting with and hugging his family.
Counsel criticises delay as 'illegal detention'
Arjun’s legal team criticised the delay in his release, calling it unlawful. “The Supreme Court order was very specific—to release him immediately after receipt of the order. Even then, they couldn’t do anything about it. This is an illegal detention and we will follow the legal steps,” said Reddy, emphasising that Arjun was held as a “special category prisoner” in the jail.
Surprise arrest and interim bail
In a dramatic turn of events on Friday morning, the actress was arrested and remanded in custody for 14 days by a lower court to release him.
