Pathaan movie review: Shah Rukh Khan nails his comeback with a spectacular performance
Shah Rukh Khan's comeback to the silver screen after 4 years was evidently a big deal. The much-anticipated movie Pathaan released worldwide today and created a day of celebration for all the SRKians. Crowded streets and long queues outside cinema halls spoke for the craze that King Khan enjoys. Once again, fans witnessed the magic of Shah Rukh Khan in theatres and there was no lack of whistles and loud cheers. Pathaan is a part of the spy universe of Yash Raj Films and the superstar gloriously justified his role and the storyline.
While Shah Rukh Khan has already been seen in many roles of army professionals, his character as a RAW agent in Pathaan stood out like no other. With a chiseled body, charming appearance and quirky one-liners, he was a treat to the sore eyes. SRK himself claimed that he wanted to be an action hero when he entered the industry and Pathaan proved why he should have been that from the start. He excelled at the extraordinary action-packed scenes and delivered with determination what was required in a scene.
Director Sidharth Anand, who has earlier helmed action thrillers Bang Bang and War, once again presented his characters in a glam-up avatar, giving enough drool-worthy moments. Action overrode emotions for a major part of the film and established SRK and Deepika Padukone’s dominance in that territory. Even though all eyes were on SRK, Deepika stole the show with her strong screen presence. Her action sequences kept us hooked equally and she managed to bring much more to the story than just glamour. Talking about the antagonist, John Abraham makes a classic case of the ultimate villain overshadowing even the hero in some of the scenes of the movie. The supporting roles of Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana also looked promising.
The cherry on the cake of Pathaan was the cameo of Salman Khan which deserved the loudest whistles. Watching Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in a single frame itself left everyone going gaga. Impressively, Salman Khan cameo looked very organic and establish a natural link between the three worlds of YRF's spy universe- Hrithik Roshan's War, Salmon Khan's Tiger and SRK's Pathaan.
Overall, Pathaan is a must-watch if you are looking for a classic Bollywood adventure movie. There is no denying that the Shah Rukh Khan starter will make you leave the cinema halls with a smile and no disappointments. Pathaan is definitely worth the wait and all the hype.
