Actor Tiger Shroff is back with Baaghi 2 and this time he is romancing beautiful Disha Patani. The movie is the sequel to 2016 film Baaghi that featured actress Shraddha Kapoor alongside Tiger. As it was quite evident from the trailer, this time, Tiger has raised the level of action a notch higher with some nail-biting stunts. So, are Tiger’s action sequences and his sizzling chemistry with Disha enough to get footfall in cinema halls, let’s find out.

Baaghi 2 Story

The plot of Baaghi 2 is totally different from its prequel. Neha (Disha) and Ranveer Pratap Singh aka Ronnie (Tiger) had a beautiful past but things didn’t work out in their favour and they had to part ways. The handsome hunk joins Army to vent out his anger. After four years, Neha once again contacts Ronnie to seek his help in order to find her daughter.

Review

Well, to begin with, what do you expect from a Tiger Shroff’s film? Probably action and some phenomenal dance moves. Yes, Baaghi 2 is no different. The movie starts with a brutal attack on Neha (Disha) and then we get the glimpse of Ronnie (Tiger), who is a one-man army (like a typical Bollywood hero). He is an angry young man who heals his broken heart by venting his ire on his enemies. We are then taken to the flashback where we are introduced to the college romance of both the characters.

Baaghi 2

Disha and Tiger’s chemistry is more real than reel. With melodious music playing as a background score, their Jodi looks refreshing. It goes without saying that Tiger is best when it comes to action sequences. He has performed some nail-biting stunts that are the highlight of the film, Disha looked pretty. The sad part is the acting.

Yes, the loophole of the film lies in its central characters. Disha and Tiger really need to work on their acting chops. The handsome hunk just fights but forgets to speak with his emotions and as far as Disha is concerned, it won’t be wrong to say that her performance in MS Dhoni was much better.

Supporting cast deserves a special mention

Baaghi 2 has an enormous supporting cast. Deepak Dobriyal, Randeep Hooda and Manoj Bajpayee are fantastic. Here, it is worthy to mention that Randeep as a plainclothes policeman is superbly entertaining. His habit of talking selfie and some rib-tickling one-liners give you relief when you are bored with too much action sequences. He lights up the silver screen every time the camera is on him. Extra half star is only for his wonderful performance. Manoj and Deepak do justice to their parts. Prateik Babbar’s performance was satisfactory.

Director Ahmed Khan knows how to make a masala film. With Disha and Tiger’s sizzling Jodi and amazing supporting cast, he tried hard to make this a complete entertainer but sadly, the movie is riddled with holes.

Baaghi 2

The music of the film is peppy. Now, it is important to talk about Jacqueline Fernandez’s Ek Do Teen. The lady has been receiving criticism ever since the song was out and people even slammed the makers for ruining the cult but in the movie, the song looks apt. Obviously, it is wrong to compare the lady with Madhuri Dixit but Jacqueline has really worked hard on her dance moves.

If you like to watch typical masala films where hero single-handedly beats hundreds of people, mouths some whistle-worthy dialogues and uses cliched one-liners to flirt with heroine, you can give it a watch. Don’t forget to leave your mind at home.
